Aida Alvera-Azcárate
Aida is a researcher specialised in data analysis and ocean remote sensing, physical oceanography, machine learning and neural networks. She is associate editor of Ocean Science and Scientia Marina. Her collaboration network includes researchers from ESA, EUMETSAT and many institutes across EU and has coordinated several satellite data projects. She is member of the Mission Advisory Group of ESA’s candidate mission SEASTAR. She is a lecturer in the Master in Oceanography and in the Erasmus Mundus MER degrees of ULiège. She's the main developer of DINEOF, an open-source software to improve the quality of ocean remote sensing data that is used by a wide community of international researchers. She regularly organizes the International Liege Colloquium on Ocean Dynamics. She has been coordinator of several Belgian (BELSPO) and international (ESA, EU-COST) projects on the use and analysis of oceanographic satellite data.
