Matthew Purver

Full Professor, QMUL

Matthew Purver is Professor of Computational Linguistics at Queen Mary University of London (School of Electronic Engineering and Computer Science), a Turing Fellow at the Alan Turing Institute, and Senior Researcher at the Jožef Stefan Institute. He leads QMUL's Computational Linguistics Lab (8 faculty, 10 postdocs and 25 PhD students). His research interests are in the computational semantics and pragmatics of conversational language, including face-to-face dialogue and online interaction. He has been PI or co-I on research projects totalling over £5M over the last 10 years.
