Mario Lassnig

Mario is a tenured staff scientist in the Experimental Physics Department at CERN, with more than 15 years professional experience. He obtained his Master's degree in computer science from the University of Klagenfurt, Austria and his PhD in computer science from the University of Innsbruck, Austria. He leads a global team of more than 20 persons for the distributed data management of the High-Energy Physics experiment ATLAS, and is the coordinator for the global R&D programme towards large-scale data management for the High-Luminosity LHC (HL-LHC). He is an expert in distributed computing and data-intensive systems, supervised several PhD theses, is a frequent speaker at computer science conferences and workshops.
