Gabriela Kalčíková

Dr. Gabriela Kalčíková is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology, University of Ljubljana, and leader of the PLANTERASTICS research group. Her work focuses on freshwater microplastics, with particular expertise in their ecotoxicity, aging, interactions with pollutants and aquatic organisms, and potential phytoremediation strategies. The group she leads brings together complementary expertise in environmental engineering, material characterization, and analytical chemistry, and collaborates with national and international partners in microplastic research.
