The Department of Immunology h is a leading center for both basic and translational immunological research. It encompasses a wide range of expertise, including adaptive immunity, molecular immunology, vaccine development, stem cell biology, and computational immunology. The department hosts prominent research groups working on topics such as T-cell biology, the complement system, immunogenetics, and cancer immunotherapy..The department plays a central role in advancing knowledge in autoimmunity, infection, transplantation, and experimental immunotherapy.


The Department of Informatics (Ifi) is the University of Oslo's unit for studies in informatics. The department is located under the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, and is the oldest and largest department of informatics in Norway. The department was in 2017 ranked number 1 in Norway, 3rd in Europe, and 12th in the world in Computer Science and Engineering by Academic Ranking of World Universities. Famous researchers that have been associated with the department includes Turing Award winners such as Kristen Nygaard, Ole-Johan Dahl and Donald Knuth. The department has a wide range of courses and study programmes, with 800 undergraduates, 450 master's students and 180 PhD students.
