The University of Manchester is the largest single-site university in the UK. The faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health has a total annual income of over €300, over 3000 members of staff, ranked 2nd in the UK in the 2021 Research Excellence Framework (REF) exercise for their research in the areas of the allied health professions, dentistry, nursing and pharmacy, and 5th nationally for research power in the biological sciences. The division of Immunology, Immunity to Infection and Respiratory Medicine conduct discovery science from disease mechanisms through experimental medicine to clinical trials aiming to optimise treatment of common respiratory diseases by enabling precision medicine.
