The University of Bari Aldo Moro (UNIBA) is a public university founded in 1924, With a student population of around 44,000, it offers degrees in all areas of science and humanities. It offers 56 BS, 66 MS and specialization and 23 PhD courses. It is one of the largest universities in Italy. It takes part in the scientific and technological incubator/park of TECNOPOLIS, supports the creation of spin offs, is member of 6 productive and technological districts and more than 90 national and international consortia and associations (UNIMED, CUM, CONISMA, CUIA, APRE). The KDDE research group of the Department of Computer Science has an extensive and recognized competence in MACHINE LEARNING, DATA MINING and BIG DATA ANALYTICS: theoretic-formal aspects in Machine Learning and design of systems for Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining applied to several computational modes. Moreover, the group has ample experience in learning from network data, spatio-temporal data mining and semi-supervised learning with applications in the energy sector, bioinformatics and cultural heritage.
