Since its foundation in 1934, USP has played a fundamental role in advancing research in the country, whether in the scientific, technological or social field. Currently, USP is responsible for more than 20% of all scientific production in Brazil. IFSC is one of the largest Physics institutions in the country has 85 scientists and 250 PhD students. The educational graduate program in Physics is considered one of the best in Brazil, receiving since the very beginning the maximum evaluation mark by CAPES, a national Council for Graduate courses that regularly evaluates all graduate programs in Brazil.
